Help lower my whip!!!

Hello,
I have a 2004 Grand Prix GT2 and I really want to lower it, but I do not want to mess it up! After doing some research I like the drop from SSC springs on a 2004 but I want to know if they will be a smart decision for my situation. I have 19x9" rims on the car with 1" spacers (because they are a different lug pattern) And I have a set of 16" black hub rims with winter tires on them (these wheels are very similar in size to the stock wheels) which I use 1.5" spacers just for the front two wheels for clearance issues. I am worried that my variety of wheels will cause difficulty with lowering the vehicle thats why I'm asking for your help! Also if I lower the vehicle could I get by with a reliable solid improved ride by purchasing SSC lowering springs, anti pogo washers, and KYB GR2 Excel G struts?? Or do I need more parts?? I would like to replace the struts simply because the car could use it, but I would like to ask while I am at it, is it possible to keep my stock struts with the lowering springs?? One more thing, I feel confident in doing this my self but I have no experience with it. Is it worth it to do it myself? What tools do I need beside a spring compressor for a job like this?? And if I don't do this myself where can I go for good cheap labor:th_laugh-lol3:??

Any help will be extremely appreciated and when telling me what I need for this job whether it be tools or parts please be specific as possible so I dont miss anything!!!
Thanks!!!!!

first things first: your wheels are too big/have too much poke for lowering the car without rubbing issues. you are going to have to roll your fenders because a 19x10 (essentially with your spacers) is HUGE. a lot of us can guide you through that as well, but it's something you need to know about ahead of time.

the lower spring thing. SSC are a good choice for the 04+ crowd. many are happy with that set of springs. you can run them on stock struts, but they won't last forever. you aren't going to blow them out in 10k miles, but they won't last 50k like they are supposed to. if they have some mileage on them now go ahead and build a spring/strut package off the car, then swap everything over. this will save you time with having to disassemble your current stuff and put it back together.

the pogo washers are a nice thought, but sometimes not really necessary.
