today i took three vac lines off today to go get the fittings i need. i couldnt find exactly what i needed so i just came back home. i taped up all the fitings because they were loose. now when i put them all back on and started the car it was ideling at 2500 rpm. i checked and rechecked the routing, all is good. what could be the problem?

You have created a tremendous vacuum leak, get the right fittings and fix it right. ZZP sells a nice vacuum line kit for about 20$
