HELP Crank Position Sensor

My mechanic just told me he got a lean running code on bank one.
Any thoughts???
He is replacing the crank position sensor...
 


Ummmm...your mechanic is a tool. Just my opinion.

Could be ignition to a bad, weak, or faulty o2 sensor.

Could also be fueling...such as a fuel pump going out or being weak, a dirty or clogged fuel filter, or even a fuel pressure regulator.

CPS...very doubtful in this case.

cps??????? huh........I agree with gr8racing, unless I'm mistaken the cps will affect your timing not your fuel.
 
The track off light comes on then the RPM's shut off. Then the dash lights up like a christmas tree....eventually the car shuts down.
It is not the fuel filter that was already changed.
The lean running bank one is the code that the diagnostics comes up with.

tach off could be cps (mine was doing that also just changed) but the lean bank is not a cps issue. Sounds like you have multiple issues, or a bad pcm
 


Ok so if it is an 02 sensor would it be for Engine, Emission or Fuel/Air.
I looked on Rock Auto for the part and it came up in all these areas....HELP!

It is all the same. Just make sure you get a front O2 sensor. That is, if that is what you think the problem is....
 
Well thanks to all from a perplexed female....the car was towed to a GM shop for proper repair....
Good luck in getting your issues fixed...
P.S. where would I post if I want to sell the car?

I had to LOL at that.

Dealerships...we call them steelerships around these parts. You would be much better off taking to a better mechanic honestly. And save a quite of bit of money too.

I have learned owning my car all these years that some times the simplest smallest things can have a huge impact on the drive ability of these cars. That goes with any car now a days...the more and more they become computer dependent and sensors spread out galore...the more problems that will come up. The joys of owning a car.

depends on the area if the dealer is the place to go, in Atlanta, the dealer was the best as they at least had training on the cars, and were price matching everyone, here the mechanic shops usually are some guy in his garage charging whatever he pulls out of his butt, Michigan it was a toss up (anyone who works in any shop in Michigan is supposed to be licensed by the state)
