Help! Big oil leak pass side rear

My son brought the 99 GP 3.8 home with almost no oil in it. We added oil and started the car, and it started peeing oil in the area of the oil filter. Fortunately the engine appeared to be fine once the lifters pressurized.

We thought the filter might be loose, but it's fine. I'm going to look again after the sun goes down and we can hopefully see where the oil is coming from, but has anyone had similar situations?

The car has 265k miles, so it's overdue for something. I just hope it's not the head gasket.

Yep, that was it. As soon as the motor started up the oil started coming out the end of the sensor. Thanks!

At least the underside is now rustproofed...
