I have a 97 pontiac grand prix gt 3.8 that randomly cuts off without warning the check engine light comes on the steering tightens up when i turn the car off and starts it back up it starts back up what can possible be wrong

well first off get the car scanned at a parts store, its free, they will tell you the code that comes up.

sounds like a crank sensor maybe. but the code or codes will tell the story.

My guess is crank sensor.

the codes that came up was p0121 p0107 p0108 i replaced the mass air flow sensor still doing it

OBD-II Trouble Code: P0121 Throttle Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Range/Performance Problem bad throttle position sensor, or wires. a good throttle body cleaning may fix this one.


OBD-II Trouble Code: P0107 Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Low Input P0108 Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input these 2 point to a bad map sensor or wires as well.
