• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Hello From South Elgin Illinois

Obviously new to the group and actually the whole "club" idea. After driving MANY cars for some 30 years, 2 years ago I found my true calling. (and a new love affair) It was the 97 GTP 2 door sitting totaled in my body shop that opened my eyes. The kid that owned it didn't have full coverage insurance and the poor car had over 7K in damage. He bounced from one side of the highway to the other and took out both sides as well as the cradle. I bought it from him for a grand and we put her back together. The first time I drove her I was hooked. I now own 4 GTP's and they are slowly replacing my mustangs. I was a huge Fox body freak and I owned 12 Foxes, I now have 5 left and they are for sale. All of my GTP's are rescue cars I get from salvage auctions. We've also restored about 15 or so. I'm currently on the hunt for another 2 door that I can rescue and do a total rotisserie resto on. I'm also looking for help on performance mods that are race proven we can do so we can promote our work. I plan to go balls out with this one in mods and paint. The only mods I have now are catbacks. Any help is appreciated. Rick

Welcome to the community.

I think you and URLOSN, a moderator here will get along just fine with all those cars. I thought at times he was starting his own taxi service or something, LOL. You have come to the best place to pick up on performance upgrades. We have a very nice and broadly based community of knowledge here, not the least of which is Trannyman95 (Dave) that is the nations best 4T65E transmission guy. We have several drag racers here and tons of people with a top notch depth of knowleged about these vehicles.

I hope that in all your restoration work, if you can, you take notes, pictures and such as that is an area of knowleged we need with regards to how to's and guides and such.

Look forward to seeing examples of your work.

Scotty,

I am usually into a GTP every few weeks. If the group can point me in any direction as to what might be helpful, I'll be glad to document. I'm starting a 98 4 door next week for complete paint with a color change so the car will be totally taken apart. I do have to many cars, It drives the wife nuts!! Some of our work is posted on my space at MySpace.com - Rick - 42 - Male - CAROL STREAM, Illinois - www.myspace.com/plett_motorsports_inc I am in no way trying to solicate or promote here, just posting information

hello and welcome... I'm from south elgin as well, good to see another local... as for local clubs, check out got3800.com it's a bunch of guys from the area and there's always some kind of event in the works

Welcome to GPF!!

I may have to hit you up for some work on my 99 GTP while I have it apart for my build. Been looking for a GPer within a reasonable distance for some work. About 1 1/2 hours north of you myself. Post up in any of the tech sections for any questions you may have or guidance. I love bodywork/custom mods (amateur) and it's nice to see someone that could add expertise to the forum!!

As a side note: Not completely local, but Branson GP Meet 2008 is coming up the beginning of Sept. and is a great time. Good place to show off your work as well.

I'm sure the locals will take care of you as well.

Welcome to the forums!!! I would have to agree with Scotty......you and I would get along...lol. Seems you have even more of a fleet than I do.

are any of your Fox's just rolling chassis? I am looking to do another LS1 swap....lol

Welcome!

ZZPerformance.com and intense-racing.com are two well known racing groups that will have a lot of proven bolt ons for anything you want to build.

WOW!!!!! Thanks to everyone for the welcomes!! UR LOSN, I do have a roller 89 LX...... I could put it in primer or paint it but knowing you want to put an LS1 in it.....dude, that hurts. The wound would be to deep, I just dumped Fords man..... Well, not really - - restoring Fox bodies is stilll my main business. Kind of weird thing happened today at the office, 2 GP's came in today for some work. A 2006 ans a 1997. Normally I would have turned them away because I'm not open to the public, but since I joined the forum I took it as a sign. I counted 15 cars today at the shop and garage that are mine, Anyone need a car? 6 Mustangs, 2 Dodge vans, 1 Lexus, 1 camper, 1 Hyundai, 4 GTP's, (not for sale)

hey ron what mods are associated with your 1/4 mile time of 12.19 or what ever it was?
