Can any body let me know if all the gxp's with the v8 have transmission problems? Ive been doing a little research and i keep seeing people talking about theit tranny going out at low miles like under 50 or 60,000 miles. I see the say you need to add a transmission cooler, but does that take care of the problem?

Welcome, and apparently one of the issues is the trans running hot. So a cooler is suggested to keep the temp down.

Some have problems, some dont.

A cooler IMO is a must to keep trans temps down because of the LS4 blocks heat transfer (alluminum).

Its still the same 4T65e that the GTP's got, so it can handle some power, but if one abuses the car, it will die faster.

its not "if" ur tranny will go, its all about when ? play circus games with ur tranny and it gunna play them back to you, trans cooler, tranny pan drop and filter change every once in a wile will all help out. if u are gunna drive it hard try no to do it from a dead stop, you will eventually blow the torque converter

Thanks to all of guys for the quick replys. Well im very interested in getting a 08 gxp and looks like thier is no sure fix on the tranny, so if heat is the only problem wouldnt adding an oil cooler along with the tranny cooler make a difference?

I have another question i was hoping that the gas milage would be so bad with the gxp because i have 2001 bmw 740i and the gas milage is pretty bad.
