hello and a question

Hi everyone I am new to the forum. I own a 1999 Grand Prix that now has 313,000 km. This car has been great, still runs well and other than oil changes and brakes it has been very reliable. The body doesn't look great as it is now starting to rust out.

I need some help. The hood latch lever broke last night, is there a way to get the hood open so I can replace the latch release.

Thanks

find where the wire is and cut it, thats what i had to do.

or remove the plastic around the lever, and use vice grips on the wire.

welcome to the forums =)

I have a '94 G.P. GTP, and I have a similar problem guys....however, mine pulled loose from the actual latch mechanism. Which direction and which part of the mech has to move in order to get the hood to release? I really need to get this done as I am soon to be down to one car if I can't get the hood popped and the battery reconnected. My 3rd car, a Probe, is currently in Jamestown, ND waiting for a trailer ride back to Minneapolis as it blew timing belt, and the shop that was working on it is stuck on the idea that the valves are bent....the story gets longer so I won't bore you with the details. :th_yawning::th_yawning:

Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance.
