About 4 mos. ago I brought a dark green 2000 GP SE w/3800 series II in Wichita. Another cool option it has is the external antenna delete w/ the integrated antenna in the back window. Carfax showed that this car spent the first 2 years of it's life as a fleet or rental in New York state!
It's been in KS since 2004.
It had 113,xxx miles - not too bad for a '00
Currently has 118,xxx miles on it.
First thing I did for it was install a new air filter, since then...
-new STEREO...Kenwood head unit w/ Rockford Fosgate Punch P1694's for the rear deck and P152's in the front doors...oohhh yeah :th_thumbsup-wink:
-new fuel filter
-new ignition control module
-new plugs, Bosch platinum 2
-oil & filter change of course, recently did the 2nd one too
-new front brake pads, ceramic type...rotors seem to be OK
-cut out the Cat ...catalyst went bad, that dreaded rotten egg smell, but haven't yet had a chance to drive it because...
I've apparently got a misfire/no spark to one or more cylinders because it's running rough (chugging) and the power & acceleration is about 60% of what it normally is. I should probably go ahead and replace the coil packs and wires. Strange that if this is the case the service engine light isn't flashing - isn't it supposed to? Plus I don't have easy access to an OBD II scanner without paying a $200+ security deposit at my nearby O'Reilly's.
Anyway didn't mean to post so much about whats wrong with it in the introductions...but thanks for reading anyway.
Drive safe and strong!
