Hello all

I just brought hoe our new GXP, I had to drive 250 miles to find one we liked but found a nice Stealth Gray one to replace the A mint condition Stealth grey 06 GT that was totaled by an 87yo lady that blew a stop sign.

When I bought it, the windows and sunroof would not work, I fiddled win the fuse box and checked the fuses and found no bad ones but when I finished the lights were working.

Now the headlights are stuck on bright.. Any one have any clues on that issue?
There is also a slight shimmy or shake when under light acceleration, it goes away when coasting or hard acceleration
Any ideas?

I do love the LS series engines. I put over 350,000 on my 98 Corvette LS1 and it was still going strong when I sold it.

The HDM Module in the fuse box could be the headlight issue, fairly common thing if you search on it.

The shake could be motor mounts or axles. The LS4 eats motor mounts, they are poor design and do not last a super long time. Being that it's an 11 year old car, they are likely to be original depending on mines. I'd look into those first because if the axle geometry is wrong it can cause vibrations.

Thanks,
I was thinking motor mounts myself. I will check that tomorrow,
The headlights appears to be a more complicated issue. The Bright indicator is on but actually the only lights working are dim. I just got back from a drive and found that the high beam indicator goes off when the left signal is on, So with some fiddling I found that I can get it to go to dim by placing a slight amount of pressure on the lever. So it looks like the switch may be the issue. The driving lights only work when the bright indicator is out. I think the previous owner may have Jerry rigged the headlights to work dim only no matter where the lever is..
I will get a Headlight Module just to be safe before I start tracking down gremlins.

I have always been a Pontiac fan. My 1st car was a 69 Tempest that I wish I still had. From there I have owned 7 Fiero's the 06 Grand Prix that we owned less than a month before it was totaled, and my favorite car was an 84 Grand Prix. I had that car from 1986 till 2004 again I wish I had kept it as well. I sacrificed it to get the C5 Vette.

I must say I am surprised at the power and handling from a FWD 4 door sedan the GXP is.

I still think GM should have killed Buick and kept Pontiac.

Another question, is it possible to have the remotes from my 06GT programmed to the 07GXP? The GXP did not come with remotes

You'll probably have to replace the indicator stalk to fix your headlight/highbeam problem.

The vibration in your steering could be lotsa stuff. Unbalanced wheels, bad tie rods or axles, and yeah motor mounts.

And lastly, you might need a new sunroof.

I just got back from a cruise and picked up the car from the shop. He replaced the motor mounts that were bad bottom and dogbone.
He said the rest of the suspension looked fine but it still has the shake when accelerating. It id worse when 2 people are in it. Anyone have any other ideas? I do not think it is in the tires/wheels because it is smooth when coasting downhill in neutral .

Why do you think I need a new sunroof?
