Heavy Rain, water in driver side floor

Hello, new member and first time poster. I have owned a 2003 Grand Prix for a couple of years, always parked outside and this is the first time I have noticed water getting into the car. It rained all night and there was a puddle of water in the driver's side floor the next day. I could see that water was getting to the bottom of the door and running in there under the door. There was water between the weatherstrip and the plastic threshold piece that you step over to get in. None of the weatherstripping is torn or falling off. I assume it's getting in at the top and running all the way down the front edge of the door. Has anyone else seen water entry at this point and if so, was it due to the weatherstrip on top of the door itself or the one on the body opening?

Again, it is clear the water is not coming in from the windshield or cowl. Any suggestions welcomed. I know I could completely replace the weatherstripping, but it's pretty expensive even for one door. I thought about putting some kind of thin foam or rubber material behind the body weatherstrip to force it tighter against the door.

Well from all my research when I had a problem with my 04 gp, i was having a problem with water on the passenger side floor, mine was a cowl issue. Does your car have a sunroof? Because there are 4 drain tubes, one hooks up at each corner of the sunroof and runs down the pillars of the car and spits out behind the wheel well. you might wanna pull out your carpet, door sill trim, pillars, and headliner and check all your tubes to make sure they are all firmly connected and there are no holes in them.
 
Thanks, but my car has no sunroof. It was easy to follow the wet trail down the carpet from the door sill area. I will probably try to duplicate with the water hose.
