Heavy kr after warm up?

Timing

New member
Randomly some days after i let the car warm up my first initial say 5-10 minutes of the drive i get heavy kr ( up to 8*) under light throttle. Ive seen some posts on this befor but no answers. Sure i could take some timing out there but just wondering if im missing something else.

Didnt think of that but i have another set of coils. Ide guess icm if either of those though. Im scan it one morning and see what my exact temps look like during that period and when exactly it goes away.

i should try a new icm and coils, maybe its the cause of my own kr. i dont have misfires or anything being reported for a mis tho.

The problem might have nothing to do with being warmed up, you might be getting knock all the time. The knock sensors don't cause pulled timing (retard) until 162* if I'm not mistaken.

As for the knock itself... maybe the front O2 sensor is going bad (Leaning out cruise AFR and causing knock)?

front o2 is new, and i thought of this already and am wondering if maby im not seeing knock untill exactly 162 and then once it warms up fully the air density changes and the knock goes away therefor im only seing knoc between say 162-180

When your file\tune was originally setup, your knock sensor temp should have been set much lower. Take a moment and set it lower if it isn't.

Danomite may have a pile of coils etc.

Was it replaced with an AC Delco or random parts store brand o2? I just changed from a parts store brand to an AC delco sensor and my car is reading very different fuel trims and gas milage bumped up quite a bit and a couple o2 codes went away... Anything other than an AC delco sensor is junk from what I've seen.

Yea ima install the cam wend morning and retune the car. I already planned on setting it lower when i was looking threw my bin the other day.

I have a denso o2 and have used them with many vehicles without issues.
