Heavy Clack Internal Front?

Hey All,

What A great engine & supercharger set up!

I have put 1.8 hi ratio rocker & thinner push rods(as they were hitting web inside head), 3 Inch pulley, bigger throttle & Maf, water to air intercooler & 98 octane fuel!

I have had a bad knock in the valve train system(since I found push rods were fouling on webbing inside head), I have since replaced the push rods(didn't fix), replaced the lifters with ZZP OE(not OE-r too noisey)!
The oil pressure is fine 65Psi cold 60 Psi warm both at idle(goes to around 70 Psi over 2,000 rpm)

When I had the valley off I felt the balance shaft & it has a little movement(by hand) & when I moved it there was a slight clack noise.

It is from the front of the motor, when driving it, it gets better the higher rev's & then on decel it sounds like a light clattering & then when it goes back to idle it comes to a heavier clack!

Any advise would be great!

Cheers all Grant

I don't think it is the flywheel, I just put a new solid plate flywheel on it as it is a manual & it did have a dual mass flywheel.

Why will I blow it up?

I forgot to mention, all the compressions are between 160 & 175 between all 6 cylinders!

When I have been driving it on the road & the dyno hasn't had an ounce of knock(but KR is thru the roof due to noises in the motor)!

Any other ideas would be appreciated, I'm thinking it might be in the timing chain area but this doesn't make sense to me as the noise like cam/cylinder speed not crank/cylinder speed!

Also if anyone wants to know an easy way to change the rear rotor pack bearings let me know, I struggled for hours first before trying something simple & a lot neater!

Sorry headers are extractors aren't they?

I have pacemaker extractor's, so 2.5" won't flow enough for 17 PSI, the max it has boosted is around 15 PSI, I will get a smaller pulley for it anyway but I just want to find out what the noise could be?

Any advise apart from flow issues?:th_scratchhead:
