Heater hose adapter fitting part #'s and information.....

I spent well over 2 hours on the internet trying to find the part #'s for the metal adapters that slip into the heater hose and go into the alternator bracket.

If you guys don't know what I'm talking about, here's a picture, the pieces that I am referencing are circled in red:

97-98 alternator bracket (with cast metal lower coolant elbow)

99+ alternator bracket (with plastic lower coolant elbow)

These adapters rarely look re-usable when swapping coolant lines. They are usually corroded with dex-crap and just plain nasty. As you can see the 97-98 are slightly different than the 99+ when it comes to the bracket. Pay close attention to which ones you need!!!

Here are the dealer part #'s for replacement adapters (the come with the o-ring already installed on them)

man this was a life saver...thanks for post copgtp.

I can find the part at gmpartsdirect, but was hoping to find it at a local autozone or advanced auto....any suggestions?
 
Drive to a JY with a razor knife, pair of pliers and 8mm shallow socket. Look for any GM of the era and you'll have those fittings in minutes.

Remove 8mm holding the piece to the alt bracket
Cut hose
Use pliers to wiggle piece out
 
Done and done, thats exactly what I did...cleaned them up with some break cleaner and wire brush, put new o-rings on and they are good as new. Cost next to nothing.
