Heater Core or Not?

Good Morning! Yesterday I got into my Pontiac Grand Prix GT 2004 3.8 Series 3 Engine after letting it warm up and it was leaking water on the passenger side floorboard. My heater is producing warm air no problem, but my windows are steaming up and water all over the floor. Is this my heater core or could there be another problem? If I can avoid changing the heater core that would be great but its probably not my luck.

I had a similar issue after I had the windshield replaced...Water on passenger side...

Appears they forgot to replace the seal correctly and all I had to do was push it in place, iirc...

If you park on an incline, or if it's been raining recently and it's not coolant you may just have a plugged drain. I had that happen earlier this year and had to unplug it.

Good Morning again! Yes it is coolant, and the passenger side is soaking wet. Windows are all steamed up! Looks like Saturday I'm changing the core! Not looking forward to taking the whole dash and console apart! Thanks for everyone's help!!

dash stays in. its just a lot of back and forth side to side removing little gold screws.

console has to come, seats can come out or not. depends on how much room you need

Your heater core will leak coolant. If you have water on the floor, it is coming from outside the vehicle. Unless you have water in your cooling system.

Good Morning!
Yes it is coolant! It's sticky and smells like coolant. No heat this morning! Froze on my way to work! I will watch the You Tube video and hopefully there is a easier way then pulling the dash. I have to wait till Friday when I get paid before I can buy the new heater core. All I can say at this point is I hope it warms up! Again thank everyone for their help!!!

make sure you keep the rad full. take the hoses off the fire wall and loop the alt bracket coolant ports. this whay it stops leaking, and the coolant stays full.
