Have anyone ever used heat sink grease under the coil packs to help them run cooler to prevent them from getting to hot and potentially failing over time?
 


Do they have the correct mounting surface to work like that? (as in the coils are flat on the bottom, as well as the icm having a nice flat surface) It seems like the icm itself runs extremely hot as it is, not sure about the coils.
 
Well the regalGS should've came with that non heat soaking plate also but even though i've never used the grease my coils/icm have been working strong for years till this day......mind you I lived in San Diego, California for 8yrs averaging 80* weather all year around........so now being back home in this cold weather it should definitely not heat soak......but the humid summer might be another situation
 
Most don't have an issue. Wait til you have a problem.

Regal has a piece of cast iron bolted to the head, that holds the coils/icm. Bonneville has an aluminum plate that is not touching much of the bracket

Used it on my T-Bird; was fighting a non-start issue and carried spare coil, module etc. It might keep a few degrees away from the coils, but the engine bay heat offsets it.
