Not stupid at all (a use of the search option would have been nice, but oh well) ;) I think you mean, "how do I disable the daytime running lights (DRL's)?"

On the left side of the your dash there is an access panel to get to a panel just inside. Remove that panel - inside you will see 2 black resistors; the smaller one - also closest to you; is the one you are interested in. Simply reach in, and pull this out. It will disable the DRL's and maintain all other headlight functionality. It can be stubborn - so don't get worried if it doesn't just "pop" out.
