So recently I have decided to top swap my car. Reason being that it seems like my tranny is having issues and might as well get the stuff ready and do it one weekend. I plan to pull the engine and trans out together and while out swap everything over since it will be alot easier while out. Along with a new (to me) HD tranny.
Bad: My car is a 97 and has the vacuum controlled transmission. I have heard I need to change the engine harness and computer. And passenger cv shaft. What else am I missing?
 


Hard parts wise.. you can add the 5 wires to the pcm and change the connector at the trans (already 7 wires on it). I have done this and it works well. That is the difference between your NA harness and an SC harness besides the MAP and BCS connectors.

After that you need to obviously correct the pcm. This is also straight forward if you are comfortable with a tuner.
