Having trouble with my 05 GT over heating

A repair shop told me it the heater core how ever there is no antifreeze smell in the car and the floors isn't wet. It's leaking down around the water pump. I changed the thermostat already. The heat wont blow could and it tends to over heat faster when the heat/ac is running. Any help??
I'm thinking water pump.

Replace the pump if its leaking from that area, also replace the coolant elbows while you are down there, they are known to crack and leak, better to replace them now before it happens.

Then back flush the heater core and do a coolant flush, that should solve your over heating problems.

Yeah, so just check the elbows first. The top one is visible to the right and a bit below the alternator. Then the second one will have to be checked with your hand since it's not visible, it's inline and to the right with the top of the power steering pump reservoir. Just stick your hand under and around it to feel for coolant. If that's not it, it's either the water pump or it's also possible it could be your LIM gaskets but you'd see that right away.

And what he said about flushing the heater core. ^ There are two hoses right behind the alternator that easily come off, flush it with some force like a garden hose, back and forward flushing.

Thanks guys. I'll let you know how it turns out. I'm not car guy but pretty good and figuring out how to do things on my own. If there are any tips I may need to know to replace the water pump please share.
