I guess i am too old, I know i knew at one time , I have a lim which has a screw in plug ( about the size of a quarter)and two dimes welded in it
What was this done for

it was done to reroute the coolant flow. I was suspect if you take the end cap off the same side you will see that the passage has been opened up to create a bypass. it's supposed to help with cooling on the rear cylinders or something like that, and also make it so you don't have to change the supercharger gasket each time the supercharger is removed.
