I was wondering if this has ever been attempted or talked about on the site putting the factory radio out of a 04+ into a 97-03? I dunno i like the stock cd radios and the 04 has a 5 disc cd changer in it also I wounder if the hud will still work? and the steering wheel controls these are other reasons to keep my stock radio I am sure the plugs wont be the same but maybe it will work with hard wiring lol? my stock cd player dont work anymore just the radio maybe if no ones done it il give it a shot
 


You would have to do some custom fabbing to the dash as 04+ is double din and 97-03 is 1.5 din. Meaning the radio is too big to just slide in. Not to mention the theftlock is different on 04+ and you'd have one hell of a time trying to unlock it. Assuming there's a chance you even COULD unlock it.
 
Theftlock makes it impossible to do because 04+ are can-bus. The radio is unlocked through the bcm meaning a tech2 has to be used. Aftermarket is your best bet.
