• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

It may be hard to tell by just looking at a picture but it's worth a **** I guess. I recently bought this car and it has 130k on it and people say the trans go bad around 70-100k and mine shifts just fine but I'm just wondering. The trans is the cleanest thing under the hood but in the picture it looks dirty

There's no way to know for sure unless you have service records, but there are some clues...

Look for the spec tag near the passenger side output. If there's no metal tag, but a sticker instead, it's likely a reman. A bonded separator plate in a '97-'02 is also a giveaway, but you'd have to open it up to find that out for sure.

When they are removed from the vehicle for service they are required to be repainted - at least that's what I been told.

number one thing is to see if the torque converter is painted OEM are unpainted and will be rusty if it is a black painted or blue or otherwise it is at least a reman converter and it likely has been overhauled
