Hard start problem

I have a 2003 GP 3100 and it has been hard to start at times?

I just put a fuel pressure gauge on it NOT running but with the key on and has 40+ psi but drops quickly.

Running it has 45+ psi and steady..

This always seems to start ok cold and sometimes (not always ) when you try and restart its hard to get it fired ( takes quite a few mins )

I have pulled the vac-um line on the pressure regulator and no fuel leaking from there?

Would you think its the fuel pressure regulator anyway??

Thank you for any help..

by hard to start do you mean you have to hold the key and let it turn over a coulpe times and then it fires up

ok then i wouldnt think its a fuel proplem..yes it could be but..but unlikly i would lean more towards a position sensor like the cmp or the ckp, and even the map and maf sensors too..anything the engine relies on to run and start..if the sensors check out then i would move into the ignition system like plugs, wires, packs, and even the icm if it goes that far
