Hand buffing



I wouldn't think it would work so great, because the buffer gets the clear coat hot and kinda makes it flow smooth.
 


I hadn't ever buffed before and didn't like the idea since I didn't want to mess it up. I watched a couple videos on Youtube, though and talked to a couple people to get some tips and tried my hand at it this morning with a borrowed buffer and wool pad.

It came out pretty good. I didn't get too close to the corners for concern with rubbing through, so I ended up hitting those by hand. It took about 4 1/2 hours to do the hood, both fenders, put the hood on and hand rub a small spot on the rear bumper.

Yes, it would have been a major bear to rub out by hand:eek:. That was a crazy idea.

Incidentally, it's fresh paint. I painted the parts I mentioned a week ago.
