GXP steering rack issue

So I took the ol GXP to autocross at the good guys show this weekend an lets just say its not the easiest car to get arpund the cones.
Iv developed a feeling in my steering wheel where the steering is tougher than before and when I pull away from the curb turning to the left it feels like it reaches steering lockfor a second and Iis extremely tough to turn, but then it frees up an works like normal. im thinking maybe a cup seal in the steering rack or something?

Anybody experience anything like this? Other suggestions on what to look for? All other help is much appreciated. Thanks guys.
 


I had a similar issue in the my 2000 not too long ago. I ended up just replacing the rack w a delco reman one.

I was in my girls 06 base model and blew the rack from turning hard at about 5 mph. Luckily it was still under warranty.
