GXP Brake Upgrade Questions

Hey guys so I just picked up front and rear GXP calipers and brackets for my 97 GTP. I know that I will need GXP rotors and pads. Will the stock brake lines work or will I need longer ones? Also I have mustang bullitt wheels that are 17x8 with a 45mm offset. They are on 245/50 tires. Will these brakes work with my set up?

I run front GXP's on my 97 aswell you will need longer lines i suggest Stainless lines from ZZP they firm up the system. I run 18's and have about a inch of clearance. IIRC 18 are required.

There is a big brake thread on here that lays it all out. IIRC its a sticky in this section

Ebay has slotted rotors and ceramic pads for good prices. its the rout i took anyways.. have fun stopping on a dime

Yeah I read over the big brake thread. It says GXP calipers require 17's not 18's.. And i will look into those stainless lines from ZZP. I found a pretty good deal on a set of four drilled/slotted rotors and ceramic pads on ebay! I just want to make sure the calipers will fit before I buy more parts...

If you question it take a wheel off unbolt current set up hang it off the strut. bolt one gxp caliper and put your wheel on see if it rubs

My Eagle Alloy 17x8 rims clear no problem. They have a 38mm offset.

See this post for GXP brake hose part numbers. If you can find a GXP brake pedal, it is definitely worth the effort. It changes the fulcrum point which improves the brake pedal feel.
