GXP best front tires??

Hi, has anyone had any experience with upgrading their front tires? I am looking at getting a super sticky tire on the car. I see Mickey Thompson has a model of drag tire that would work, but I haven't met anyone that has tried them yet. Any input would be great. I am looking to hook up better, and stay hooked up.

Thanks, I know you can't just slam the gas... But I would like some tires that grip better so I can put the pedal down a little farther, and then once the NOS hits, the car won't spin quite as bad. I'm not looking for a miracle, just a little help with traction.

Honestly, if you're making any kind of power on a FWD car, its pretty safe to say that you're not going to find a GOOD traction street tire for a FWD, RWD is a different story. They only way you might get half assed traction on the street is running DRs or Slicks all the time and let me tell ya, thats going to be miserable.

I'd give up now on this idea and pick up a spare set of rims and get you some DRs or Slicks. Throw em on when you're at the track or when you want to play. Heat em up and go.

Believe me, i've done the research even had a set of supposedly good sticky street tire. Don't waste your time or money. You'll never hook like a RWD car...

I know a guy that uses nitto 555R's on his cobalt...check them out.

They are ok for a street car. Not the best in the rain, but better than any slick or any other drag radial and they last longer than most drag radials...

Hell, it's what I use on my camaro, but they are 315s!

I've heard more GTP owners on ClubGP ***** about how bad the 555R hooked on the street than any other tires. Most if not all said they wouldn't buy them again.

Unless you wanna run a good DR or Slick on the street, your not going to hook with these cars, i'm sorry.

All depends on how you use them..what psi you run, how much you heat them up and most of all suspension. It can be a tricky tire, but it's been proven to get 1.6 60' but usually more around 1.7-1.8'.

FWD...hell idk what to tell ya. i can't count all the people i know running these

nitto's do like to be heated up before they hook good. cant always do that on the street tho.

bfg's were pretty good for me, im gonna try some dunlops next.
