Sorry that I was gone so long, I traded my purple GT for an eclipse GS with 109k miles..

When I got the car I realized it was a slow POS .. for some reason I thought it would be able to replace my purple GT, But No.. So I had to go on a search once more to find the ride fit for me.. another Grand prix because It feels weird driving other cars.. So I found some guy in lock haven.. and purchased me a nice little Red 99GTP with 265k miles but an engine / tranny swap with an 03 GTP with 100k.. It runs smooth for 265k miles ..and heres the pics. (: its a work in progress

Well, apparantly the car use to have tan leather interior seats so they swapped them with cloth? lol they feel comfy but i doubt it would be pleasnt with heated cloth seats o.O
but hey! if i ever swap with black leather, id have the heated seat option? baha the only thing it needs is 2 outer tie rod ends plus struts .. the mechanic lifted it for me to check for hidden issues .. and there were none baha
the ride is so smooth.. no clunks or knocks from engine
 
Get rid of the u-bend and do something about that intake setup...pronto.

Otherwise yeah...for 265k, looks good.

Hows This? I could perhaps put a fenderwell intake on the car but I think for now this is better than stock airbox.
And the ubend thing.. Once I get the car out of the shop (tranny recently died, getting rebuilt with tons of hardened parts)
I'm going for a downpipe or just headers

Much better than ^^^ on the intake. But I have a question since I never noticed this thread when you came back in September.

You say its a 99, check the vin... should have XFxxxxxx for the last 8 on the vin if its a 99 model. If that is right you may consider checking the motor and tranny over really good because I doubt that either the car is a 99 or the motor/tranny pulled was an 03.

My reason for the statement is the intake box and tube is from a 97-98 model. 99 went to a bigger better box with a short tube and continued up to 03... so they took a 99 car with a better intake, pulled a 03 motor, and put on a old body intake system??? Something is off here.
 
Yeah, It is kinda strange but from the craigslist picture they posted it actually had a red intake on it and I got a bunch of parts with the car like a green door handle, mirror, HUD, and the airbox wasn't bolted down, but either way the only trouble I have had with the car was misfire in cylinder 6 because of a dirty coil prong , cleaned that out, seafoamed it then worked like a champ. then the transmission, everything else works fine lol.
I'm tryin to set a record lol so far im at 266,666[7] miles XD
 
Yup yup 99... so they pulled a perfectly good airbox, to replace it with an older more restrictive one with a smaller opening for the air. I just don't get some peoples lol.
 


Welp, This Guy I bought it off of was half retarded and didn't even know how to spell his last name, so not sure.. but i feel that with alot of TLC this car will look brand new yet have 266k on the body.
and about the tranny swap, I just assumed he swapped tranny as well, But uhm.. Apparantly not lol,
yet getting it rebuild with hardened parts for $1600, so it should be alright
 
Custom rebuilt 4t65e transaxel with high stall HD torque converter, shift kit and all updates only for $1800, not bad.. Now all my car needs is a trans mount, new dog bones, right front axel, right front bearing, and engine brace then it will be good as new baha
possibly going to get rid of pin stripe​
 
For the transmission or the Car?
The car .. I traded a 99 eclipse GS for it with 108k miles on it.
The guy that got my eclipse totaled it by hitting a tree and said it needed a tie rod, when the tie rods were obviously in the back seat.
