GTP Struggles 4000+

Hi all, Im new to this forum and just purchased an 01 GTP about a month ago. The engine idles smoothly and seems to have good power under normal driving conditions. When boost is applied the engine responds well until around 4000 rpms. It hesitates from 4000-6000 rpm. The cabin, especially when the sunroof is open or the windows are creaked begins to smell like sulfur. The catalytic converter doesn't seem to glow or anything like that and i have no CELs or codes being thrown. The engine was running stock wires and copper cores and seemed to run smooth enough with the exception of this problem. I replaced most of the ignition system. AC Delco Iridiums gapped to .060, New MSD Red Stock Wires, replaced all three coil packs and the ICM. I also replaced the upstream 02 sensor with an AC Delco sensor. I have checked the wires and plugs over and over and cant seem to find a problem. I would greatly appreciate any other suggestions you guys could toss my way cause i love everything else about this car.

oh yea, forgot to mention, 86,*** miles & the coils are off of an L36. If that makes a difference. I've got like 10 of em laying around. (The l67 coils that came with it had rusted electrodes and the 1,4 coil was cracked)...

im sayin a clogged cat. cut it out, put in a straight pipe. delete the code or get 02 sims and see what happens

i dont think a clogged cat throws off that code, i read somewhere on here that if you remove the front 02 sensor and take it for a short drive it may indicate whether or not its clogged...

searh the site i know theres a good amount of threads on the subject

I tried that once, however I melted my number six wire because of it's proimity to the hole..is there a way to avoid this?

well, when I did it before, before my wire melted, the car didn't feel different and it still misfired. So I'm kinda lost
