GTP only brake calipers?

Bought a full set of calipers and brackets. Noticed the fitment guide says "GTP only, will NOT fit Base or GT models".

Why should that matter? Wheel clearance?
 


Only calipers bigger are GXP...16" rims fit on any other 04-08 Grand Prix be it a Base Model, GTP or GT
