Sooo, now that I've joined the site I figure I might as well add to the kills stories with a few of my own.
Ok so my first one happened about 2 years ago when I first got the car. Most of my friends are car guys so we are always screwin with each other about who has the faster car. Now, I have a Camaro as a summer car so for a while that was one of the faster cars, until my buddy got a 01 Mustang and then I started to fall to the back of the pack (One camaro and 5 Mustangs, I was the minority). I had trucks for a few years as a year round vehicle until I decided I was sick of slow and bought a GTP (ive wanted one since I could first drive). Following my purchase of my car, one of my buddies got a 04 Mazda6 Sport and another one got a G6 GTP and once again the "my car is faster talk" started up. So one night we decided to put an end to the guessing and decided to do a few controlled experiments in order to aquire some scientific results. After a few minutes of debating where to perform our experiment we decided on a dark, 5 mile long stretch of 55mph highway. We did a few passes up and down to make sure there werent any cops, once the coast was clear we went at it. FIrst up was me and my buddies G6 GTP. Nobody wanted to go from a dig because they thought I had an unfair advantage (sissies) so we went from 20 rolls. So im next to the G6, he beeps 3 times and get a little bit of a jump on me seeing as it was a little cool out and I got a little too into my part of the experiment and broke the tires free. Once my car hooked I mowed right past him, I dont even think my car broke a sweat. Up next was the Mazda and G6. The Mazda took it so it was down to me and him. We get next to each other, he beeps 3 times and we go. I was a little smarter this time and kept the wheels in check. We were pretty even till about 50, a which point I pulled away. We did a few more runs that night (nobody could beat me). All in all it was a fun time and I proved my hypothesis correct - If you own a GTP, then you will have a fast car. haha
Another kill story I think is worth sharing was when I beat my buddies R/T Dakota. I think its a 2001, lowered, intake, exhaust and if im not mistaken I believe it has a chip, not sure tho. So, as always, I was running my mouth (haha) about how I could beat his truck. So, one day we are out driving (2 of my buddies are in the R/T and me n my girlfriends friend are in my car) and we were just picking up some stuff for a little BBQ we were gonna have. We both knew if we hit a red light it would be game on, but we never got the oppertunity. So we are on our way home on one of the main drags in our town (2 lane 40mph road) and I start pullin past him and slowing down and pullin past him and slowin down, basically just being a jerk. Then he starts doin it to me and at this point we are approaching the end of the road (it turns into a 1 lane). Im in the right lane which ends at an offramp onto the highway and there is nobody in front of us. I was left with 2 choices, slow down and get behind him or blow his doors off before I get to the offramp and get in front. Im pretty sure you all know which action I took. I look over at my gf's friend and she says go for it so I get next to him and just gave him a nod, we slow down to about 15 20mph, I beep 3 times and we go. He started to pull hard and was a full fender ahead of me by 45. I keep on it knowing there is still a chance I can pass him and I started to reel him in. By 60 I was even and by 80 I was walkin away from him. At this point I have about 1/8 mile to get completly ahead of him and get in his lane. I stayed in it and kept pushing further ahead (at this point my gf's friend was clenching the arm rest haha but once we were done all she said was "that was awesome"). Needless to say, I got infront of him and had to stop rather quickly from 100 because there is a 30mph speed zone when the road changes to one lane.
