gtp engine replacement

i have a '98 gtp, now the previous owner spun bearing and destroyed the crank and block. the problem i have been finding is that i can't find a gtp block at the local junkyards. could i get an L36/L26 block and use my L67 heads on it and be alright or would i need a tune?

thanks in advance

you need more than a tune because the high compression wont like the boost. you'll need some flow mods to accent it. even then you might have to run lower timing.

so is it worth using the n/a lower end with intake, headers and tune? or should i try to find a rotating assembly from somewhere else to make things easier? i was planning on headers and intake reguardless

if youre sticking with the stock pulley i'd say yes. any lower than that and you'll need more done.

the higher compression allows you to have more out of boost driveability whereas the L67 feels like a dog out of boost.
