Gtp comp g frankenstien help

So i bought a 2005 gtp with the comp g package that has a salvage title. Its been wrecked and they used a 2004 grand prix se to put it back together (even the vin and dash) Now i called gm to get the options but soon figured out the title i had is for the 2004 so now im wondering how much needed replaced. Like for instance i have leather seats but no heat button on the climate control panel , does the car have a stock remote starter? Could it have have duel climate control? How can i tell? Honestly the car is clean and really well put back together so i could drive it how it is but if it has those options id like to be able to use them. Also its a comp g gtp shouldnt it have a hud?

It should have HUD, red calipers, sportier suspension, tap shift, different headrest, I don't think factory remote start was a option until 06+ but maybe im mistaken.

Yes it has a supercharger, leather seats, sunroof, and it has a comp g badge on the side of the car that wasnt replaced it has fuses for heated seat and coil springs but no tapshift or hud but dash and windsheild were replaced maybe even the steering wheel and counsal/shifter

You should be able to get the heated seats back working by just getting the right Climate Control dash panel at least.

DIC 5 button? What's your shifter look like? PRND321 would NOT be a Comp-G tranny. That is a lot of things missing it seems. Maybe a base model that got new engine and a few Comp-G panels?

Did ALL of the 2005 comp g have hud and tapshift or is that just an option? Can i install it aftermarket if not?

they would have had to yank out the dashboard and most of the interior to have swapped in the compG stuff.

sounds like they swapped in the motor/trans and left it.

you could find a comp G in the junkyard and yank it all out and swap into yours. probably take you a couple days

Possibly i called gm according to them it a cloth interior base model but i cant see someone changing all the seats to leather and putting in different motor and all the books in the car are for the 2005 model plus the coil spring fuse now i was thinking what if they had to replace tge steering wheel ànd the donor car was a se wouldnt they have to change the shifter assembly and counsel?

what you got was an 04 base model with a sc motor/trans and engine harness swap.

possibly the 04 was in a small engine fire, and they had a compG to snag parts from.

use a scan tool to grab the PCM vin

if they didnt keep the tapshift trans then your pcm may be the 04's

Swapping the seats aren't hard so I wouldn't be surprised if that was done.. It's suspension could of been swapped as well. Badges could of easily been added. It's hard to say what it really is at this point but it would have tap shift and hud standard.

I assumed SE you were meaning "Standard Edition", but wanted to be on the same page. Like Turbo said, you probably have a base model with a Comp-G engine and panels, but not transmission. And if they had a Gomp-G donor... Might as well take the seats too.

Nah the 2004 was the doner according to gm it was a reg 3800 with clothe seats and no sunroof my car has leather and a sunroof and a supercharger and 2005i information books i dont think someones gonna switch all the seats, cut a hole in the room, switch all wiring harnesses and not a trace of any of that on the car when i say clean i mean spotless i
