GTO hood for Grand Prix.

Saw a 2005 GTO in a supermarket parking lot today, and parked next to it for comparitive purposes. I recently acquired a '98 G/P coupe and plan to keep it. I like the GTO hood much more so than the stock or even after-market scoopie hoods out there. I didn't think to put a tape measure on it; but just eyeballing makes me think it just might fit. The curve looks to be the same, and while the body line down to the headlights is a bit more pronounced - it doesn't look all that different. The inner structure (underside) might tell a different story so far as hinge mounts, latch location/configuration and air induction system (if there even is one) is concerned

I know what "The Book" says; but hopefully some of you body guys out there has had some experience with this kind of modification; or has access to interchange information (part numbers don't always indicate such).

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

No.

Headlights and hood aren't anywhere near the same.

Retrofit some stock headlights.

Get a ram air hood.

Get some GPO grilles.

That's about as close as you're going to get to a GTO without buying one.

You would have better luck ordering in a fiberglass custom scoop of your liking and having it molded onto the factory GP hood, vs trying to modify a GTO hood onto a completely different car.

Something like this only for the GTO or w/e you set your mind on.

Was just an example of fine work with a custom graph from a different car for the LOOK you want.

Nobody has done a look-a-like GTO hood, so I went with what I knew was available.
