Groaning noise from front end when initial reversal,

When I back out of a parking spot (wheels turned), I hear a low groaning sound, almost like a gurgle. One I start moving forward, the noise disappears. Never hear it during normal driving/turning. Heard it might be bushings, but which ones?? Anyone got a clue?

Thanks.

Pull the passenger wheel and fix the plastic splash shield that's rubbing when you turn the wheels and backing up.

I'm likely 75-85% right on this one.

Bill, thanks. I’ll check it out, but I have my doubt that’s it. More of a groan than a rubbing noise.

I get it.. it's a good first thing to start checking. And seeing as 99% of those shields have tire rub marks on them, it's a possibility. I like easy fixes.
