grinding noise

ok so here is my problem, and yes im still trying to track down the same problem lol .

Ok so in any gear when i am driving or even when i am stopped i hear a grinding noise from 2000rpms-2600rpms. Anything after that it seems like the nosie jsut drowns out. I have searched for the noise in the engine and the noise seem consistent fromt he timing cover all the way to where the flex plate bolts up to the tranny. But inside the car whne i am driving it seems to be kinda louder on the drivers side. Im thinking maybe it could be a bad torque converter possibly or maybe flex plate. Also do u think dex 6 in my 99 gtp could jus tbe the problem like maybe the tranny is working to hard for such think fluid?
Also i just did put in a XP cam so all of u knwo.

But please feel free to put up your opinion to kinda figure otu what u think it is.

another thign is when i did the cam install i put a new chain and tensioner on. And than it did the noise on about the 2nd startup on the engine. And than about a few weeks ago i put in another brand enw chain and tensioner and the noise went away and all of a sudden it appears again. Think i could be having bad luck with timign chains? should i just go to double lol

1. Get a spell checker for your browser.
2. Get a good vid where we can hear the noise. Put a screwdriver to the camera if you have to in order to record the noise. I'm more interested in overall sound/rythmic etc than I am the actual loudness.
3. If you swapped the chain/gears and the noise went away. The ones you took off had sharp/burred up edges. That says there's something wrong in the gear/chain area. Pull the cam and have a machine shop check it over to ensure the drilled area for the bolt/cam hub/keyway are all in line.
4. It's a GP... nuff said.
