Grinding noise when wheel turned sharply slowing down

Occasionally my car will thump or grind that I can feel in the peddle when slowing down to a stop upon parking or whatever when the wheel is fairly sharply turned. Any idea what would cause that? Also, not sure if its linked but the ABS and trac off lights will come on and off. Thanks

Mine does a similar thing, but I've never felt it in the pedal. It's the tire rubbing the plastic wheel well piece (on mine, at least). If you can feel it in the pedal, though, I doubt it's what I described, because that plastic doesn't have enough strength to really slow the wheel down (which would cause that feeling in the pedal).

Sounds like you have a wheel bearing going bad, judging by the low speed grinding sound and the fact that the ABS/Trac light is on/off at random. Jack the front end up and give the tire a wriggle left and right from the 3 and 9 o'clock position, then in/out from the 12 and 6 o'clock position. If you detect play then you have found the worn bearing.
