Grinding noise after pan drop?

So, dropped my trans pan earlier to change the filter and put new fluid in. Dropped the pan, cleaned it, cleaned the bolts, put them back on, filled with a little less than 5 quarters of transmission fluid. Now, it seems like there's a grinding when shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. It's noticeable at first then goes away as I raise RPMs. This car is killing me. Any clue what it might be?

You sure there is enough fluid?

Did you check the dipstick with the car running and everything hot? Because a normal pan drops takes atleast 7-8 quarts.

you should prolly sell it

Was planning on it until this came up. Now I need to fix this and throw more cash into it before I sell it lol.

I checked with the car after being parked for a while. I'll go heat it up and check again. If that's the problem you just made my night.

Added more fluid equalling 6 quarters. Problem seems to be fixed. I'll add another quart tomorrow just to be sure. Thanks FFDP!
