Hello there!
New member endangeredspecies - Tom. In Granite Bay, CA - just outside of Sacramento.
Recently picked up a 20,000 mile 2002 Grand Prix GT Coupe in Redfire over gray leather.
Looks like it sat in/around Oakland for about 9 years. But got smogged and registered, so should be good to go!
Accelerates effortlessley, shifts smoothly, coolant is a nice clean orange color, and oil looks good. No puddles on the driveway.
Shocks feel good, radio works, no funny noises. (One minor rattle in the dash, but I think that's to be expected.)
Still had the original Goodyear Eagle LS's on it!
It's going to live with my daughter, at school, up in Oregon so needs to be great in the rain.
I threw on a set of (225/55R16) Conti ExtremeContact DWS 06+ tires and Trico Pro+ wipers.
It's at the local Buick dealer right now, getting all fluids flushed and replaced, and the engine compartment fire recall addressed, and inspection to see what else it may need.
I bought a bunch of light bulbs and assemblies at RockAuto to replace burned out and worn out ones.
Has only a small, 500CCA battery, so I'll probably get something a little more appropriate in there.
Looking forward to my first GM, and learning from all you fine folks on the Forum.
