Grand prix sunroof

hey can anyone help me my grand prix sunroof moves just fine it just seems delayed i push the open button and it moves the right amount of time just the vent position dosent open all the way just like half. When i push it again which is supposed to go to full open it goes full vent which its supposed to go after one push but just opens a little less than half way. If i push the button again i get another 1/8th of an inch but it goes to dead stop the motor dosent even try to spin [ie the lights dont dim a little like a hung up motor trying to open] any suggestion or help comment would be appreciated. Is there like a timing that the motor is sent to run at each push or what. I will give anyone a like with a helpful suggestion or comment

What ur describing was exactly how the sunroof on my old gp was. It had been like that since I got it. Now my current gxp doesn't do it. My guess is the little switch has a short in it or something along that area
 
hey thanks its a 1998 gtp yes it functions perfectly just dosent open all the way i dont know if the car thinks its open so it hits its auto stop or what
