• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

i have a 1997 gtp with about 145,000 miles on it. it has done this since i bought the car. it started out only doing it every once in awhile, and very minor. it would start, idle rough, maybe stall, then usually after waiting it would start back up and run fine. on thursday, apparently it decided it was going to screw me, it left me stranded at a gas station in the ghetto, after waiting and cranking, and hoping, my battery died. once i got a jump, after about a half hour of sitting, it started right up. i drove it about 20 minutes to a tuffy, and they ran some codes, and got a deficiancy bank 1 code, or something like that....a very broad code. i drove it home that night, and in about 2 hours when i went to leave, it didn't start. and wouldn't. the next morning, i replaced the coils, and the fuel injector relay, just to see if those might have been it. that did nothing. we tried jumping it with my friend's car, and it started right up. so i thought maybe it was the battery, because it was old...and did need to be replaced. so i went to the store and dropped 90 bucks on a new battery. it seemed to fix the problem, but now it seems like if i let my car sit for more then an hour, it won't start.

Possible fuel pump problem or fuel pump resistor? Can you hear the fuel pump turning on when you turn the ignition on? What were the actual codes that were set?

Well what do you have to do to get it to start? Have you changed your 02 sensor? Bend tab 87 out on your fuel pump resistor to set it in high mode. If it "cures" the problem then you need a fuel pump resistor.
