gp vs buick

Alright i'm at the track at test and tune night and like always there is nothing but honda's running 17's and so on. Finally this kid pulls up behind me in the pits and gets out of a buick park avenue (supercharged) and starts talking like he races every friday night and walks up to my car and says i didn't come here to race gt's. i just blow it off and walk up to the track to watch the motorcycles race. After that, i walk back to my car and the kid is sitting next to his buick and asks if i want to race. i said sure thinking i was about to get my ass kicked but figured i'd give it a shot anyway. To make a long story short, i ran a 16.1 and he ran a 16.3 ... he had an intake. i have an intake and catless dp. yes i realize 16's arent worth bragging over but i was proud of my 195 hp car showing up his 240hp car. i know that a park avenue and gtp do not drive the same what so ever but shouldn't he have one? both of us had great reaction times. Also, i dont know anything about the supercharged 3.8L impala ss's but could i have a chance against one of these, assuming it is stock?

That Park Avenue sounds a bit slow, I would figure it could at least a High 15. Then again a Park Avenue Ultra is a way heavier car than a GP is. I think they have almost a 1,000 pounds on a GP. With that said, I can see a GP GT running and possibly beating an Ultra.....

yea the buicks arent anything to write home about...now the impala..which correct me if i am wrong...is basically the same as a four door gtp..so i dont think u would win.

top-swap that GT, then u will have something to brag about, F that guy for talking ****, im glad u shut him up, congrats :)

the only reason i ask is because the guy with the impala likes to talk a big game and knows nothing about the vehicles he drives. I've been looking into the top swap. Only problem with that is, I'm a little hesitant in doing it myself. I would probably be better off having someone do it who knows what they are doing. Also, all said and done, how much would i be looking at in total parts? Thanks again for the congrats on shuttin' up the buick guy.

Forget the HP, forget the motors...how can you live with yourself if you roll up in a Park Avenue AND talk $hit...to anyone??

I'll let you know what the total was when I'm done with mine if I remember. I got a sock deal on alot of the parts though. Good kill!
Depends on the year SS. The brand new ones have a 5.3L V8 S/C.

They're the exact same as a 97-03 GTP. Same weight, same engine, same transmission.

Depends on the year SS. The brand new ones have a 5.3L V8 S/C.

The 04-05 Impala SSs have the L67 (3.8L SC). The 06+ Impala SSs have the LS4 (5.3L). There is no supercharged V8 option.

It all depends on the year of the Impala. 2000-03 they had either 180 hp 3.4 V6 or L36 3.8 same as the GT. 2004-05 the SS was released with L67 SC. So if this trash talkin Impala has a LS on the back and is 00-03 line up, you just may win.
