GP unusual jerking...

Ok, I'll try to describe this the best way I can...

Recently my car has does this wierd jerk or pull after pressing on the gas after coming to a stop. If I come to a stop sign or red light or even slow down because of a vehicle in front of me then quickly press down on the gas petal afterwards, the car will rev up but then kind of jerk or almost seem like it pulls until I let go off the gas. There are no lights on the dash and the car drives fine with the exception of somewhat bad vibration at about 60mph. At around 75-80, the car drives smooth.

I just had my engine and trans mount changed today hoping it'll help with the vibration and it did a little bit. I also added a CAI last week. I'm wondering if the CAI has anything to do with it :-/ I really just want to stop the jerking...its freaking me out.

so it started at the same time as the cai? is the air temp sensor that is in your tube sealed up nicely? is the cone and tube clamped down nicely?
how many miles on the car?
the jerking to me sounds like something that happens when your tranny is about to go.
the vibration could be anything just about.

put the stock air box back on. if it goes away you know. if it doesn't you'll know its something else.

Yeah, everything seems nice and tight on the CAI. I have about 161k Miles. Now, that I think about it, it was doing it before the CAI so I guess that's not the cause of it. I'm really hoping it's not a trans problem...I heard that can be quite pricey :-/

Possibilities:
low tire pressure ( I know from experience)
axles could be wearing out (would explain both symptoms)
Trans. slipping

you're right in that mile range for a trans failure. it could be axle though. i hope it is. it def can be the vibration. look to see if they are wet from grease leak. when they are going you can smell it too. the grease smells like skunk. check your trans fluid. if its not red its not good. good tranny fluid stinks, kinda sweet smell. if it smells burnt that's bad.

Well, just took it out for another drive. No odd smells. I didn't get to check the fluids or anything since its dark out but I'll check tomorrow morning. I keep seeing stuff about Lucas Oil for Trans slips. Anyone have experience using this?

you have to lean down there by the front wheels to smell the axles. you would think you hit a skunk. the smell of the grease is unmistakable--unless you actually hit a skunk. to see if they are leaking you will probably have to be underneath it or have the wheels off. but they might be bad even if they aren't showing signs. if they are oem they need replaced at this point anyway.
