got scanned, codes dont mean anything to me. help me out here

ok so i took my car to Advance Auto the other day and got three codes.

dont know what they mean, but maybe someone can help me understand them a little better.

1st- P0118 eng coolant temp ckt high input

2nd- P0135 o2s heater ckt malfunction 1/1

3rd- P0441 evap cntrl system purge flow fault

really could use the help.

sounds like u need a coolant temp sensor a o2 sensor and a purge valve

well i unplugged the coolant sensor because i got tired of seeing low coolant when i had plenty in there. im getting a new radiator on friday/saturday. so hopefully i get one with that one that works. are the other two important?

Coolant temp is a totally different sensor than coolant level.

If you search on those codes here..you'll find a ton of good info.

Ya coolant temp is under the t stat and the heater in the front o2 sensor is out just needs a o2 now the purge can be a lot of evap but mine was a purge valve itself that was leaking under vac and caused that code

hmm, well i tried lookin up the codes on here but i dont have any of the same symptoms everyone else had. my car runs fine. and my temp gauge never goes above 220. so im not sure whats needed. (getting my radiator friday)

dont know might just have a messed up input causing it to go to high at some times

Ok..well if you don't talk to us..then we don't understand what is happening. You said.. got these codes and don't understand them. I can google search and learn a ton about a code. Would assume that you would as well in trying to fix your issues. Then you say.. my issues aren't the same as others.. so far you've only told us you have codes...nothing else. We need more info from you to know what is happening at your end.

We are pretty good at diagnosing things..but we aren't quite there on mind reading. :th_biggrin2:
