Hi all
Got some codes on my car - 2000 Pontiac grand prix GTP
Codes:
P0133
P1573

I drove the car and then it had no ignition for a few seconds and then all be normal.
After this I've got the codes and the computer goes mad.
The TCS light was on everytime the computer shows only 0.00 in the fuel consumption.
So then I thought this must be the igition coils.Because I had before some problems with them.
I changed all on the car and the ignition coils also back to stock the car ran great no problems no code.
I changed them back and deleted the codes and now we will see if all is ok.
The coils I had where the ZZP coils (4 years old).
The coils I have now are these:

Hope these are original coils because these are the best
 


Neither of these codes are related to ignition coils. P1573 is lost comm to the EBTCM and P0133 is slow response from an O2 sensor. You may have two issues or a bad PCM. As for the eBay coils, they are not stock and stock are the best. Even stock coils from a junkyard will be better than any other brand.
 
Thats interesting. I changed the O2 sensor already.
The EBTCM I don't know how to fix it or where to get a new one.
But if I have no failure codes now after changing the ignition coils then all will be good.
Bad PCM? Its a PCM from ZZP I have. After 4 years gone bad? ok nothing surprises me anymore.
​Had the same with the ignition coils from ZZP also.
The second problem is I have awful gas consumption......it goes higher and higher everytime. Whats that?

That is a repair service for the EBTCM. These modules are known to fail. New ones are far too expensive and it is not possible to be sure of anything from a junkyard. Probably the most reputable repair service is the one below. I just had a repair completed a few months ago.

Now I have only one question:
The car has such high fuel consumption.
Why? Before it was down on 10l/100km
And now at 16,5l/100km.
​Whats that?

And I drove the car today an had no codes...this all with the new ignition coils
Think the old ones where a problem.

You might want to check your plugs to see if you can determine if one is not firing well. I know you will not want to hear it but, having gone through this several times myself, grab a set of original coils. Even ones from a junkyard. I have had two sets of MSD coils in my car and both caused acceleration issues intermittently. I swapped one coil at a time with stock coils and ended up with all stock coils both times. Both times, I tried every combination and permutation of stock+MSD coils trying to isolate the bad coilpack(s). The first time, if any of the MSD coilpacks were installed, I had problems. The second time, after many coil swaps, they just started working without issue. It is inexplicable to me. There was a problem, then suddenly there was not. I slowly backed away from the car, gave it an appreciative nod, and closed the hood. They have been there for the last couple of years.

The upshot of all this, while struggling through the above, all of my experience and research demonstrates that the stock coils just work. There is no performance gain from any aftermarket coils so the only reason to do it is aesthetics which is why I persisted. In the back of my mind, I know that there is a good chance that I will have to abandon the pretty red ones at any time.

I think this would be the solution the original coils. If my coils are broken I will order the original from rockauto. Can paint em red and looks good.
The plugs should be ok...because now the car runs straight without problems.
For me :
Buy original coils they are the best!
Will follow this advice.

Headers even with no leak will cause that code often. Something to do with more flow and the O2 sensor has trouble keeping up. Or the O2 can be bad, but that code is tuned out on both my cars and 2 of my friends cars. Its really not any issue, if you have a new O2 sensor or you verified that the O2 is working

I have a new O2 sensor and its working. I have No restrictions when driving.
​Maybe I need new spark plugs
 
That is a tricky code. If we ignore that and just focus on fuel efficiency, your MAF sensor may stand a cleaning.
