1992 camaro z28, auto, 96 vortec 350, magnaflow cat back, TPI,slp ported runners,ported Plenum,SD intake,SFC's

he went 14.5 at 95 at the track with one pass of the day ( he might have gotten it better, who knows)

how i see it he is 2 mph behind me. should be a pretty close race.

he wants to wait till after christmas tho, says he has to study for finals, i think hes getting something for christmas. but ill have rockers, i was gonna get a cam but im just gonna wait on that one (and dont tell me how i need to get a cam over rockers cause i have deeply debated this) so ill have a little more omph myself.

it gives me time to fix alot of things tho. clean the tb up real good, pull the injectors off and give them a good cleaning, maybe run some seafoam threw it. fix exhaust leaks. idk what else should i do??

we should have video also. what do you guys think??
 


I think it will be a good race, depending on what he gets for christmas. Do you have a pulley already? I see you have headers and an intake. You should drop to a 3.5 pulley too. That would definitely wake your car up alot. Good luck.
 
no, no pulley yet. im gonna wait till i get injectors and then drop to a 3.4 and get my tune from overkill all at once. idk, i might pick a 3.5 up tho cause im sure i could get away with headers and rockers on a 3.5 knock free. but i dont have a scan gauge so im trying to stay away from pulleys till i get one.

and yea i know hes got some kind of trick up his sleve. i told him we could do it next weekend but he said nah wait till christmas because of exams he has to study for. right....

idk im just trying to get all my ducks in a row myself
 
yea either way its all in fun, i know him from another forum. i just dont like to lose :th_tongue2: specialy when a family sedan can bust a camaros *** :th_king-normal:
 
No rockers for you! LMAO :th_laugh-lol2: It should be a good race. Just remember to get a good launch. Check your weight get rid of excess weight/trash books clothes ect. and only have enough gas in the tank for a few runs. A pcm will help with your mods as well as a shift kit for faster more positive shifts. How far is the race going to be? From a dig or a highway run? All different factors will result in different outcomes. Good luck man!
 


best belive im removing everything from the car. im not even going to let the camera man ride in my car.

ummm. probably a few digs and a few rolls. tune is out of the question cause im not doing that till i get everything ready to put on.

hopefully the moded rockers go back on sale christmas. they were 199 on black friday but i was waiting for cams to go on sale, then i decided against that (idk, dont ask)
 
I hear ya on the cam/rockers decision. Ive taken a mid 90's z28 from a 25 roll and pulled 1 car on him with my wife in the car with me. This is with the mods I currently have. Unfortunalty I wont be able to mod as well as you this winter, but I will have a pcm and shift kit. I could get a cam/headers from selling my AK47 next week, but I need another good house gun for the wife when im not home so im gonna go that route.
 
yea it has a 3inch dp to the resinator and 04+ dont have u bends.

ive also ran a few lt1's with different out comes, but this one has a vortec 350, that comes out 96-97 1500 trucks. they pull alot harder in the higher rpms than lt1's. kinda like mini ls1's. my buddy had it in the 1500 truck with headers and intake and it would put a whooping on my n/a 06 grandprix.

and im trying to get my moding out the way before the baby gets here in april. it will all be over then. but im fine with that.
 


I think the horse power guys built up one of these engines for their camaro. I believe it is a LQ4 based off the LS1. I might still have it on dvr, I will look tomorrow to see what it put out for power if I can find it.

Yep...This is why im trying to get all my guns and car goodies before my wife and I have a little one or 2.
 
Shoulda did the same, but it's all good. It'll give me and the boy something to do together when he get's a little older.
 
Save yourself the cash, you don't need injectors really until sub 3.0 pullies. Pulley down and beat his ass. People are also running great times with rockers. Sometimes I wish I had kept my rockers, then I start my car and that notion is out the window.
 
04+ have smaller injectors. there maxing out at 98% cycle duty on a 3.4.

and no i still havent got the leaks fixed yet :/ i cant find a right size clamp that fits properly, aghhhh. hopefully have a fix for that soon.

and o god i couldent imagine haveing more than one kid!!! i need to be a computer engenier to keep up enough money. its gonna be a boy tho so yea like badass when he gets a little older we can work on things together :D

also gotta replace a coolent elbow. its leaking like niagra. so im glad hes waiting till after christmas. im gonna eat me a camaro :) well depending on what he gets for his car :/
