since the gtp's down for the time being due to a cracked flexplate, i went out and looked for possible a second DD. found this deal after a few days search online. although the flexplate is something thats not 'severe', im also in the process of getting one of trannyman's street/strip trannies in the works:th_winking:. since i got ripped on the dynotech tranny, there were a couple parts that was salvageable both being the GM 1" chain and the 300M input shaft. those 2 components are gonna get installed on the tranny core along with trannyman's parts.:p. i'll keep you guys updated on that in another post/thread.

going back to the OT here are the specs on the grand am. i drove it around a bit and the car's in clean condition as well as the shifts are crisp and the clutch just needs getting use to(really tight/late release):

im not gonna install go-fast parts, the only thing it'll have and i already bought it via ebay is a CAI, and thats it. its the commuter car and it'll stay 99% stock as possible. i still need to change the oil and switch to full synthetic. it just turned 38K miles. the car was traded in a couple months ago to a mazda dealership. why the price was way below KBB, nadaguides, and edmunds is beyond me as it resells for 6500-7200 instead. i also got the dealer to drop it down to 5500 pre-tax/tags.

the GTP's also gonna be the weekend warrior as well as i changed the insurance coverage on it to liability only, makes sense for the miles and year of the car.

that should be a good car for you. My wifes Grand Am hung around for nearly 12 years and had around 170k on it when we sold it. It has the 3.1L V6 in it, so I would imagine the Ecotec should be as durable.
