good set of front pads?

Hey guy! i Did my 12'' brake upgrade a few weeks ago. new calipers, brackets cross drilled rotors and ceramic pads. the pads and discs are no names, got them off of ebay for 110$ for pads and rotors. so after a few days of the upgrade my front left was making a squeeking sound. i removed the caliper and pads and found a nice chunk out of the outer pad. i resurfaced the pads and noise went away for about 4 days. I resurfaced the left pads again went away for 2 days and now both sides are squeeking. its pissing me off. so i know this is the pads im planning on getting some new pads. im just curious, are ceramic pads known to make more noise than metalic or semi metalic? i went the ceramic route to have less brake dust and there is actually quite a bit of dust on my mags after only a week. so help me out with picking a new set of pads. I live in montreal canada so i dont know if i will have the same variety as most you you guys in the states. part stores around here are pretty much only napa, canadian tire, Auto plus and well GM. id rather not go GM cuz there probably quite pricey.

oh and p.s yes there is grease in all the necessary places, and squeeking only comes at very low speeds just as im about to come to a stop.

Drilled Rotors are a waste, cheap ceramics have been known to make noise, especially the low dust one's.

I've heard only good things about the HAWK HPS pads, but they're not cheap... and I've not used them myself so, check around.
:)

Ya I know there a but if a waste but it does give a nice look! Thanks il check and see if they are available for me! Any chance you remember the price of them?

The Wagner thermos are pretty nice at Napa, and Bosch is making Autozone's new duralast gold pads they are ceramic and seem to be working well on my beater.

i just did a set of duralast gold pads and duralast rotors on a 3500 Chevy dump truck a few months back, i drove the truck last weekend, and those brakes are biting like a rabid dog, this is a work truck from the time he starts it till it ends the day, always loaded up, and towing a trailer all day every day. i must say im impressed with the brakes. i was almost begging him to not buy the duralast, but his cheap side made me put them on.....not bad at all, now they are 2 months used and still work real good.

the duralast brake job cost him about 350 all 4 rotors and pads.

napa wanted over $500 for the same but their premium stuff.

Ok so my choices from auto plus by my house are absco semi metallic at 35$ there own brand of metallic pads 25$ or their higher quality brand of ceramic pads at 40$ Or original ac delcos for 137$ lol

sounds like cheap sh1t^^^^^^find another parts store or order on line, get pads worth over 50 but less than 90 i'd say. ceramics are nice too.

Ya im gonna take a drive over to napa this afternoon and see what they have! If they have anything good for
Less than an arm and a leg il get them and install them today.

so i called napa instead and they had their first and second quality set. 102$ for the first quality and 49$ for the other. but neither were in stock. so i guess we dont carry the same brands here in canada as you guys do in the states. But i absolutely wanted to the noise gone today cuz its been driving me crazy so i bought a pair of absco pads from auto plus. ive installed these on numerous cars and havent had any customers come back complaining about squeeking so i went with those. and so far so good.
