so im trying to hook up my best friend with his first car, what do you think about this find on craigslist??

2005 Grand Prix

how many miles can 05 grand prixs get up to?

what are some common problems i should look for when checking the car out?

any other suggestions or comments you have would be great, thanks guys!

Base model with way too many miles ! I have an 05 CompG GTP with 73k and it was appraised at $7500. The problem with that price is that later on your buddy is going to want to top swap and add more money to it , basically let him buy a GTP off the bat with lower miles even if he has to spend a bit more $$ just my 2 cents.

we got this link...http://www.grandprixforums.net/97-03-w-body-buyers-guide-common-problems-60802.html this covers the basics.

your best bet always is to take the car to a shop pay the guy to look over the car with you. could be the best 50 to 100 bucks spent. that way your getting a real good look under it, and have a mechanics thoughts on how it looks and what problems it has or could have in the near future.

my car was for sale for 1600. i took it to a shop and after that i had the leverage to buy it for 800.

140,000 aint to bad, they live for a long time if taken care of. that one you posted seems to be missing the important part, the blower lol

other than then that it looks like a clean car. price aint to bad, but it could have problems like any used car.

thats steep, buddy got his 05 base for the asking on that with 50k less miles on it. tell hime search some more

due to his price range, he cant exactly spend any more than that, and we have been searching for quite a long time for cars for him (like 8 months!)
