Good info and a few question regarding a LIM change and the PCV system

I thought i had oil leaking from my pan gasket ( turns out it was leaking from the oil press sensor that probally was damaged earlier 25$ autozone) so i pulled the motor out and replaced the upper intake, lower intake gasket, valve cover gaskets, thermo gasket, and oil pan gasket and eventually the sensor. When i started the car it made a loud howl and poped a p0507 ( idle to high). After it idled for a bit the sound went away. IMO it sounded like a dry bearing screech. The car rolled down the road but with a huge power loss, i also noticed very strong vaccum from the pcv tube and and removing the oil cap would almost stall the 3100. Heres were i messed up .... I tightened the LIM center bolts waaaaay to tight and cracked the two center most intake runners.... Also the rubber on the metal felpro gasket was all chewed up. Went to the scrap yard, ported and painted a used one for 20$. I learned from my mistake and invested in a inch pound tourqe wrench! All fixed but some things are diffrent, so here is my question. When i remove the oil cap now the 3100 sfi doesn't even notice ( no change in engine sound/ no stalling ) is that normal for my car? Also my warm idle is around 900, is this normal? No p0507 anymore BTW. Thanks a bunch! And i hope someone will find this helpful.

JC it is Normal for my '94 3100 to run uneffected by the oil cap removal. I never even thought about that being a problem, you must have been creating a Vacuum leak with the Manifold Cracked. When I replaced the LIM I had to remove the Pushrods and the lack of Oil in them (at least one of them) made an awful racket when I started it back up, while I was Swearing and trying to decide which one was the problem it filled with Oil and stopped making the racket. I went from Very angry to Very Happy in about 2 minutes.

Thanks a bunch for the info, i needed to hear it from another 3100 driver! Kinda peace of mind ya know. I never thought about the oil inside the rods, it explains a lot actually. Have you ever looked into an oil crankshaft scraper for the 3100 3400 engines? Better oil saturation?
